Hersh Company’s plastic facility specializes in post-industrial recycling of automotive material handling.

• Vacuum form part trays, kit packs, totes and plastics pallets. Hersh Company also repairs knockdown containers such as Ropak and Buckhorn collapsible plastic containers.

• We process a variety of materials such as: HMW HDPE, INJECTION GRADE HDPE, Polypropylene, ABS, TPR, Xenoy. Colors can be segregated if volume permits.

All incoming feed stocks are scrutinized carefully by our highly experienced plant managers and separated into material type or grade and is then evaluated in an extrusion plastometer for their MFI (melt flow index) to ensure customer satisfaction.

As we are a recycling company, the environment is very important to us. For environmental concerns, we have instituted a dry processing system, avoiding contaminated runoff into any water supply.

Materials are downsized by our 100HP shredder and conveyed to a 100 HP granulator. The resins then enter a dry air-wash system for the separation of unwanted fines, stringers, dust and paper to provide a constantly clean regrind. All regrind automatically passes through a bank of rare earth magnet for removal of all ferrous metals from 1.5 mm (1/16”) and larger. All regrind is neatly packaged in a lined, sturdy, 1000 lb gaylords and box labels include date ground, material destination, material history (if known), gross, tare, net weights and color coded by type of material.

Toll grinding services are available. We have the ability to keep materials separated from other projects in our facility to ensure our customers get only and all of their material returned to them.
